BlackWolf approached Stampede in late 2013. They’d seen what we’d achieved with another client and were looking for similar results. Over the course of a series of phone calls we formulated a strategy and in the process discovered a lot of mutual ground which took the campaign far beyond being just a PR campaign.
BlackWolf’s debut album ‘The Hunt’ was released in 2014 and met with critical acclaim. Classic Rock Magazine and Planet Rock Radio championed the band, which led to their own 'Planet Rock Presents' Headline Tour and in 2015 BlackWolf were nominated for ‘Best New Band’ by Classic Rock Magazine Awards. All the while touring the UK relentlessly with headline shows and supporting the likes of Blues Pills, Von Hertzen Brothers, The Answer, Winger, The Temperance Movement and many more.
Behind the scenes there were changes afoot. During the course of phone calls and meetings with the band, it was apparent this young group's sound was evolving into a more contemporary soundscape. Stampede introduced the band to producer / artist Toby Jepson (Little Angels, Wayward Sons, The Virginmarys, Toseland). and they began work on Blackwolf's sophomore album. It was quickly realised that in order for the band to progress, big changes needed to happen.
In 2016 illustr8ors was born and in October of that year they released their self titled debut EP. The band, featuring all the original members of BlackWolf, are now a much more contemporary sounding rock band. Their music has been featured by the likes of Kerrang! Magazine and Classic Rock Magazine has praised the band for their bold relaunch.
Hitting the ground running, illustr8ors made their live debut at Ramblin' Man Fair and were special guests to World Superbike Champion James Toseland and his band Toseland on an extensive tour of the UK, along with a flurry of their own sold out headline shows.
2017 sees illustr8ors back in the studio, working on new material in preparation for their highly anticipated debut album.
